Keen to preserve their beloved local, Chris and Murray Booker gave up their jobs in teaching and finance to take over The New Inn in 2016.
The couple have put a focus on offering produce from Sussex farms and suppliers and their exceptional range of English wines and use of local vineyards, such as Albourne Estate, helped them scoop the prestigious Best Pub for Wine Award in 2019.
Our food is prepared by Brambles and our exclusive partnership with them. Most ingredients are locally sourced including our own vegetable and herb garden and freshly prepared to order. We feature regular fresh fish with daily deliveries straight from Brighton and also offer a comprehensive Vegan menu
From traditional pub favourites to more exotic dishes, our chefs will provide a changing list of seasonal dishes to keep you coming back for more. Private parties, weddings, functions and Christmas parties are our speciality and we can cater for special dietary requirements and allergies.
A proper children’s menu is also available.
"When we took over The New Inn our only experience of pubs/restaurants was as customers with mixed experiences. We therefore set out to give people what we would like and expect ourselves both in terms of quality and just as importantly service.
We’ve learnt a lot and loved every minute of it but it has been hard work and it’s fantastic to have achieved the wine award - something we really believe in and enjoy.
We couldn’t have done all of this without our staff and the fantastic support of our customers and the help of local suppliers.”
